Carols at the Cove, usually the first Saturday in December, Skipton Brass Band play at the Base of Malham Cove from 2pm to 3,30pm, Mulled Wine & Mince Pies.

There are always things going on in malhamdale, including Malham Show A traditional Agricultural Show held on August Bank Holiday Saturday and including the Malham Show Trailquest Mountain Bike Orienteering event and the Malham Show Fell Race.

This summer, visitors to Malham Cove will be given a rare chance to see the world’s fastest bird at an RSPB viewpoint! Peregrine Falcons at Malham Cove RSPB Information Officers and a team of enthusiastic volunteers will be on hand everyday (weather permitting!) between 10.30am and 4.30pm from mid-May until the end of July with high-powered telescopes and binoculars to give visitors a close-up view of the stunning peregrine falcons nesting there.

Walking in Malhamdale is free and plenty of it to keep you busy and work on a thirst or hunger to be satisfied in one of our local establishments even if just passing through on the Pennine Way. Don’t miss Malham Cove and Gordale Scar.

Mountain Bike routes abound in and around malhamdale including the Settle Loop more information available on MTB the Dales Mountain Bike the Dales or you could try the annual Malham Show Trailquest mountain bike orienteering event on August Bank Holiday Saturday.

Attractions and Things to do Town End Farm Shop & Tearoom in Airton is also worth a visit for its great selection of local produce, meats, cheeses, dairy, veg, preserves and in the Tea Room great snacks and meals, refreshments and homemade cakes. Also gift shop upstairs selling pottery, local art, wooden toys, cards and books. Now also selling Wines and Beers.

Malham Smithy, The Old Smithy in Malham has been given a new lease of live and is open most days where you can view traditional iron work being created, candlesticks, garden ornaments, hooks, hangers, etc.

The Coniston Hall Estate just down the valley in Coniston Cold offers accommodation, food, drink and much more, Clay pigeon shooting, 4×4 Land Rover Experience, fly fishing, falconry, archery, Honda Pilots, quad bikes, hovercrafts, paintballing, horse and carriage riding Ö. Malhamdale Cricket Club play friendly games on a Wednesday evening throughout the summer and sometimes even in Winter!

Fly fishing at Malham Tarn Malham Tarn has a long history of fishing with the original fishing rights being granted to the Monks of Fountains Abbey by William de Percy. Wild Brown Trout and Pike are known to make the tarn their home.   The Friends of Malham Tarn are pleased to announce that fishing for Malham Tarn’s magnificent wild brown trout will recommence on the 1st May 2023 and will once again be available to the general public!   Find out more about the Friends of Malham Tarn

Other Events

Learn charcuterie, pork butchery, curing and sausage making skills, create your own sausage here on the farm in the Yorkshire Dales, courses held usually monthly throughout the year.
